The Secret to Pursuing Your Purpose That No One Is Telling You

It is okay to be a beginner. This is my anthem these days. Whenever I start anything new, I immediately compare myself to others who have been refining that gift or fulfilling their calling for decades. I make it from Point A to Point B, disregard the progress it took to get there, and immediately wonder why I am not yet at Point C? I take one misstep and I question the entire path before me. Why are we so quick to compare our first pages to someone's fiftieth chapter? They once had to make the choice to start and be a beginner, too. We can't get to where we are going with God by staying where we are today. Calling is not found in comfort, but neither is it found in comparison or striving. So today I'm embracing the mystery of walking with God over my own mastery because I want to finish this race well. I want to see the goal we are running towards and I want to take hold of all that He has entrusted to me because I want more than answers. I want revelation and I want a relationship with Jesus. I want to encourage you that it is normal to feel discouraged, but I want to challenge you to choose to be strong and courageous because the beauty lies within our own refinement and the refinement only comes when we choose to step into the fire.

Power is connected to obedience.

Before Jesus began His ministry a couple of things happened:
1) He was tested in the wilderness (Matthew 4:1-11).
2) Then He went out and His ministry spread like wildfire (Luke 4:14).

Why was this the powerful result?
Because Jesus spent those years learning. He grew in the Word of God. He grew in wisdom. He grew in stature. He was baptized by John. He was tested by the enemy and overcame every trial. Jesus’s THREE years of ministry relied on THIRTY years of preparation before the prophesy was fulfilled. THEN He became FULL of the power of the Holy Spirit and went out to do what God had called Him to do.

There is a way things work in God’s Kingdom.

There is a process of progression before the prophesy is fulfilled. We may have grown up with the instant gratification and simplification of the internet, but we cannot Amazon Prime God's purpose. We are going to have to walk out every step of this process so we will have the strength and training to take on the staircase. Embrace this moment. Learn to live out this season to it's fullest so you may take hold of everything that God has to teach you. Every season has a reason and a beginning and an end (Ecclesiastes 3:1). God is a good teacher and a good teacher always prepares you for the test. How you end this season will determine how you start the next.

Even though Jesus was God’s Son, He learned obedience from the things He suffered. In this way, God qualified Him as a perfect High Priest, and He became the source of eternal salvation for all those who obey Him. - Hebrews 5:8-9

Creativity without discipline equals unrealized potential. Creativity only reaches craftsmanship through progressive activity and discipline. There will be a pressing, a straining, even though it is what God has called us to do. He is calling you to exert the strength and the energy so you may have the endurance and the ability to fulfill His anointing over your life. We have not yet arrived at perfection but let’s celebrate that we are closer today than we were yesterday. Press in. I dare you to be joyful where you’re at on the way to where you are going. Diamonds are only formed through a process of intense pressure, time, and fire. Will you be so bold to believe the purposeful refinement process God has over your life? Push through, pursue, and be willing to begin. There is greater beauty yet to behold.
