A comprehensive guide to maintaining good mental health and identifying mental health issues, includes links to a mental health assessment as well as state and national resources.
National Runaway Safeline
The National Runaway Safeline gives individuals access to nearly 10,000 resources across the country: support groups, counseling and drug treatment centers, runaway shelters, and homeless housing, as well as other assistance with legal and medical concerns.
National Domestic Violence Hotline
The National Domestic Violence Hotline provides crisis intervention, safety planning, informational resources, and healthcare referrals to agencies in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. English and Spanish language assistance available as are interpreter services fluent in more than 170 languages.
National Suicide Prevention Lifeline
The Lifeline is open 24-hours, toll-free, completely confidential and available to anyone in suicidal crisis or emotional distress. Your call will be routed to the nearest crisis center in a national network of more than 150 crisis centers. Additionally, the Lifeline’s national network of local crisis centers provides crisis counseling and mental health referrals day and night.
The Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline helps to stop and prevent child abuse. Childhelp reaches all 50 U.S. states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Canada. Childhelp is available 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. All calls are kept anonymous and confidential. The hotline offers crisis intervention, information, literature, and referrals to thousands of emergency, social service, and support resources. Professional crisis counselors work with interpreters to provide assistance in more than 170 languages.
The Dream Center
The Dream Center is a volunteer-driven organization that finds and fills the needs of over 80,000 individuals and families each month. The organization does this through mobile hunger relief and medical programs, residential rehabilitation programs, a shelter for victims of human trafficking, transitional housing for homeless families, foster care intervention programs, job skills training, life skills, counseling, basic education, Bible studies and more. The Dream Center works to meet people where they are at, to bring them hope and a way off the streets. More than 100 independent Dream Centers have been launched nationally, as well as internationally.
